About Streetscapes
Founding Concept
To offer commercial developers, municipalities, transit agencies and property
management entities distinctive street furniture and site amenities for
public spaces.
Product Focus
Unique contemporary and historic street furniture and site amenities featuring
design, durability and functionality.
We started out with the typical street furniture product mix. But as we learned
more about mixed-use districts, town centers, transit oriented development and
lifestyle shopping centers, we decided that benches and trash receptacles
weren't enough. Our research told us that those types of places required street
furniture and site amenities that helped to create destination public spaces
- places that people would become attracted to because of the experience and
their interaction with other people. So we added street furniture and site amenities
to our product line that addressed more of the visual and tactile senses and
items that contribute to one's entertainment experience. We also learned that
branding and the ability to "brand" a project though it's street furniture and site
amenities would contribute significant value to a project.
In 2006, we made a conscious decision to encourage and support healthy
lifestyles, alternative modes of transportation and the "green and sustainable"
movement. To that end, we added decorative bicycle racks that can double as
public art, bicycle storage systems and bicycle lockers; shade structures, umbrellas
and recycling containers and other products to support our commitment.
About Communities
We're stuck on the idea that communities need to distinguish themselves and
that they need to identify, promote and direct residents and visitors to the assets
that make them unique. We are participants with a group of historic, interpretative
and graphic professionals interested in assisting communities tell their unique stories.
Our manufacturers support that idea as well with custom manufacturing capabilities
for custom or site specific street furniture and site amenities.
